Going out of City

Tyumen’s geographical location gives residents the unique opportunity to experience all the 4 seasons throughout the year. In Tyumen there are plenty of opportunities to practice all kinds of sports and outdoor activities. Adventuring, barbecues, a small trip to a park – we’re all about it, and it’s easy to understand why. Tyumen citizens just love getting outside and with plenty of activities nearby, you should too. Here are a few of the best things to do outdoors near Tyumen.

In winter get bundled up and enjoy safe and fun outdoor local activities. Our recreation centers and holiday resorts offer a wide variety of sport facilities: skiing, snowboarding, skating, snow tubing, snowmobiling, and even dog sledding:

And even during the winter season you have an opportunity to enjoy swimming in an open pool with water temperature up to +42 C. Our recreation centres with their thermal springs are popular far beyond the Tyumen region and attract more and more tourists from all across Russia every year. The special water composition makes swimming in it not only pleasant but also healthy:

Guests can also enjoy these very same places during the summertime and enjoy different seasonal activities as wakeboarding, rollerskating, riding a bike, a hoverboard, a scooter, a velomobile, practice extreme sports and much more. There are also a lot of swimming zones around Tyumen:

There are so many museums to learn about Siberia’s rich history and traditions.

The ones most accessible because of their location in the city center are the Museum Complex of Slovtsov with its art exhibitions, historical collections and varios workshops and the Historical park "Russia – my history". Close to the famous embankment of Tyumen, there is located the City Council Museum exhibiting one of the tallest and the oldest mammoth in the world. We also encourage our students to visit the Archeological Museum at Lake Andreevskoe to get to know about the lives and cultures of the region’s indigenous Arctic ethnic groups. Furthermore, the Museum of Tatar culture evokes the Siberian Tatar way of life for its visitors, and surely can’t be missed.
