Champions Choose UTMN

“UTMN’s Institute of Physical Education has always been the alma-mater of some brilliant sportspersons. On our list of freshmen this year we have a Master of Sports of Russia (international class), 9 Masters of Sports and 18 Candidates for Master of Sports”, reported the Institute’s director, Evgeny Kolunin


UTMN is already proud of its new students:

Alexandr Usoltsev, Master of Sports of Russia (international class) and winner of multiple Russian and European competitions in kettlebell lifting;

Daria Sidorova, member of the Russian junior and youth biathlon teams;

Alyona Tretyakova, champion and medal winner in regional and all-Russian biathlon competitions;

Arina Pantova, bronze-medalist at the Winter Youth Olympics in biathlon;

Anna Gurkhvina and Lyudmila Ulybina, multiple champions and medal winners in all-Russian biathlon championships.

UTMN masters programmes in physical education are also very popular with qualified athletes; more than half the enrollees have come from other universities and regions. Among them are such renowned sportspeople as:

Nikolai Kuzovlev, International Master of Sports in rock and ice climbing, a member of the Russian team, multiple champion and medal winner at European and World championships, the World Cup and various Russian competitions;   

Kirill Ursov, Master of Sports in volleyball, two-time world youth champion and European junior champion;

Athletes Nikita Vesnin and Azalia Sultanova, champions and prizewinners in a number of Russian competitions.
