The Ministry of Education and Science of RF hosted a meeting of the Council on increasing the accessibility of higher education for people with disabilities, creating support for their professional orientation and further assistance in subsequent employment. The meeting participants discussed the new tasks set before the Resource Training Methodological Center (RUMC) project for the 2020-2024 period.
The RUMC network includes 21 resource centers and more than 490 universities. Among them is the RUMC of the University of Tyumen, which was established in 2017.
Lyudmila Volosnikova, Director of the Resource Training Methodological Center of the University of Tyumen, took part in the meeting of the Council.
It is encouraging to hear that the RUMC network’s project for the development of inclusive higher education continues. The report of the RUMC network for 2017-2019 showed a positive steady dynamics in the number of applicants with disabilities who entered universities; the number of employed graduates is consistently growing, more and more flexible and accessible environments are being built in universities,” commented Lyudmila Volosnikova.
