UTMN develops ties with Taiwanese partners

International 21 November 2018
The University of Tyumen and the Chaoyang University of Technology (Taiwan) signed a memorandum of understanding. The Taiwanese side was represented by Professor Tao-ming Cheng, President of the CYUT, while UTMN was represented by Rector Valery Falkov.

The Chaoyang University of Technology became the first UTMN partner university in Taiwan. According to the memorandum of understanding, the parties agreed to develop cooperation in the fields of academic exchange, joint research activities, and specialized short-term training programs.

“Our university is pleased to be working with Russian universities. We hope that in the near future we will be able to begin implementation of academic mobility programs and participate in joint research. We hope that soon the universities delegations will exchange visits,” said Sylvia Huang, representative of the Chaoyang University of Technology.

Vladimir Nezhdanov, director of the UTMN Chinese Center, notes that the development of academic ties with Taiwan is a positive sign for UTMN. Taiwan universities occupy high places in the world rankings. The National Taiwan University (NTU) is in the world's top 100 universities and in the top three universities in Asia. To further strengthen ties with Taiwan, the UTMN Chinese Center is gradually building a relationship with the Moscow office of the Taipei-Moscow Economic and Cultural Coordination Commission.
