UTMN master’s students undergo an internship in Saint Petersburg

International 23 November 2018
In 2018, UTMN Institute of Environmental and Agricultural Biology (X-BIO) opened its first master’s program taught in English – Plant Biosecurity. Almost 40% of its current students came from abroad.

The master’s program is realized in a partnership with the All-Russian Research Institute of Plant Protection located in Saint Petersburg, so X-BIO students came there to undergo a two-week internship. They joined the Institute’s research teams to try and solve relevant fundamental and applied problems of plant biosecurity. Moreover, X-BIO international students now have a chance to explore Saint Petersburg and learn more about Russian culture and history.

“There’s no doubt that our alumni will have great career opportunities in the spheres of research, higher education and agriculture industry due to their wide scope and research competences gained while working over projects in world-class research laboratories under the guidance of leading Russian and international scientists,” believes UTMN Vice Rector for Research and International Affairs, Andrei Tolstikov
