UTMN welcomes the delegation of the Kazakh-British Technical University
The delegation of the Kazakh-British Technical University, headed by the Rector Kenzhebek Ibrashev, visited the University of Tyumen. KBTU is a university that prepares the intellectual elite of Kazakhstan.
The areas of possible collaboration between KBTU and UTMN include the oil and gas industry, chemical engineering and information technology. KBTU cooperates with the largest companies in the oil and gas industry and adapts educational programs to the needs of employers. This is the only CIS university that offers ABET-accredited IT specialties (ABET - the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology).
Valery Falkov, Rector of UTMN, spoke about the university’s scientific and educational structures that may be of interest to KBTU. These include the Polytechnic School, which implements the unique Master’s degree course "Conceptual Engineering for the Oil and Gas Industry" in cooperation with Gazprom Neft, as well as the program of supplementary professional education “Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Management”, realized in a partnership with PJSC Gazprom Neft and PJSC SIBUR Holding.
The delegation also visited the Technical Center and the science laboratories of the Institute of Ecological and Agricultural Biology (X-BIO), the Institute of Chemistry, the Institute of Physics and Technology and the Basic Department of Oil and Gas Flow at the premises of HMS Neftemash.
It should be noted that the University of Tyumen successfully develops cooperation with the CIS countries. Taking into consideration the common cultural and historical community of the peoples of Siberia and Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kazakhstan occupies a priority place among UTMN’s international activities. Twelve agreements with the universities in Kazakhstan have been concluded so far. There are joint academic exchange programs. Over a thousand Kazakhstani citizens study at UTMN.
