Anastasia Vasiullina, a staff member of the X-BIO Institute of UTMN, took part in the International Summer Field School on Site Formation, Stratigraphy, and Geoarchaeology in the Athenian Agora organized by the Malcolm H. Wiener Laboratory for Archaeological Science in collaboration with the American School of Classical Studies in Athens (Greece).

School participants conducted geomorphological studies using methods of micromorphology, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), which provide with an understanding of the formation of archaeological objects deposits. The interpretation of events in the study area was based on four profiles located within the ancient Athenian Agora (commercial area) located in the centre of the Greek capital. Archaeologists and geoarchaeologists from the United States, Germany, Israel, Slovenia, Italy and Russia participated in the summer school.
