UTMN shot to the top of the Web of Science Core Collection’s publications on acarology around the globe.

According to the statistics for the last three years, UTMN shot to the top of the Web of Science Core Collection’s publications on acarology around the globe.
Currently, the research group of UTMN acarologists is the most productive one in the world. In the three-year period (2016-2018), 215 scientific articles were published in Web of Science Core Collection journals. UTMN is one of the top 10 scientific organizations of Russia in the section “Plant and Animal Science”. The only universities out of this list, which are ahead of UTMN, are Moscow State University and St. Petersburg State University.
The new UTMN Institute of ecological and agricultural biology (X-BIO) created under the project of developing of major Russian universities "5-100", has provided the multidisciplinary capability of acarological research at the University.
Researchers study the interaction of ticks with biotic and abiotic components of the environment, their phylogeny and evolution, population and community ecology, parasitism, and many other issues.
