The scientific report of master's X-BIO student was rated first at the “All-Russian conference of pedozoology”.
The VI All-Russian conference of pedozoology and ecology for young scientists was held in Nalchik on 20-26 of September. The program of the school consists of lectures and practical seminars, where leading scholars could share their own experience.
Special attention was paid to the peculiarities of mountain soils and their animal population, changes in soil and biota on the point of gradient of altitudinal zonation. Young scientists presented oral scientific reports on the subject of their research at the conference.
The expert commission awarded the diploma for the best scientific report to Vladimir Salavatulin, a graduate student and junior research assistant of X-BIO. Vladimir undertakes research in the field of ecology of tick communities.
In August, his paper on microhabitat distribution of arboreal oribatid mites (Oribatida), associated with the Siberian pine (Pinus sibirica) of Western Siberia was published in the leading acarological journal "Experimental and Applied Acarology".
