Damir Safin Appointed New Director of the UTMN Institute of Chemistry

37-year-old Damir Safin, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, has been appointed Director of the UTMN Institute of Chemistry.

In 2003, he graduated with honors from Kazan Federal University, where he defended his Candidate thesis three years later. Since then, Damir Safin’s academic career has taken him to a number of leading international universities including The University of Münster, The University of Cologne, The University of Toronto and The Catholic University of Leuven. He has also worked in the research centre of PJSC SIBUR Holding – one of the largest Russian gas processing and petrochemicals company. 

160 articles by Damir Safin have been published in international research journals, mainly of the Scopus’ and Web of Science’s first quartile score (Q1). His h-index is 21.
