University of Tyumen Among Russia’s Leading Universities in Communications Effectiveness

The results of the 2025 Integral Communications Effectiveness Ranking of Russian universities have been announced, recognizing higher education institutions that have demonstrated excellence in implementing communication strategies
The comprehensive study is conducted jointly by Social Navigator, a project of the Rossiya Segodnya media group, and Brand Analytics.

The ranking evaluates universities based on a range of indicators, including audience engagement, media visibility, presence across social media platforms, and representation in popular science publications. This year’s study included 615 universities from all regions of the Russian Federation. The University of Tyumen (UTMN) improved its position by two places and now ranks 30th nationally. UTMN remains the leading university in the Tyumen Region, particularly distinguished by the effectiveness of its communication efforts in promoting the University’s research achievements and scientific excellence.

Commenting on the results, Svetlana Valieva, Head of Strategic Communications at the University of Tyumen, noted:
"UTMN’s successful media strategy is the result of a systematic and consistent approach built on openness and close engagement with prospective students, current students, alumni, the academic community, and industry partners. Today, a university is not only a center for education and research but also an active participant in public dialogue. For this reason, we prioritize a comprehensive communications strategy that encompasses social media engagement, collaboration with media outlets, and the promotion of our researchers’ scientific achievements—particularly in the context of the national agenda aimed at strengthening technological sovereignty."
