'UTMN-1' and 'UTMN-2' spacecrafts facilitated the First Space Quest

The "UTMN-1" and "UTMN-2" spacecrafts helped organizing the First Space Quest as a part of the Space-π project satellites. The event took place from January 2nd to January 8th. According to the project legend, a group of tourists from Antarctica faced a disaster and started sending distress signals. Participants of the quest had to use satellites to find the coordinates of the travelers and rescue them.

During the competition, participants received the "SOS" signal and solved tasks. Among the tasks there was obtaining a photograph of the location where the distress signal came from, comparing the photo with a map of the area, and discovering the signal containing the coordinates of that location. Players searched for the signal from satellites that theoretically flew over that place. Four spacecrafts were involved in organizing the space quest — "UTMN-1," "UTMN-2,/" "MONITOR-1," and partially "SITRO-AIS-10."

It's worth noting that the "UTMN-1" satellite was developed for monitoring the Arctic Region by school students from the Tyumen Region, as well as students and scientists of the University of Tyumen. "UTMN-2" was designed for diagnosing the troposphere and water bodies using satellite infrared thermometry. Upon successfully completing all tasks, the participants received a message: "Thank you! The coordinates were corrupted due to poor communication signal, but the system was able to restore them! The rescue team is already on the way! You can receive your reward for assistance."

The event was organized by the Ruzayevsky Mission Control Center.
