University of Tyumen at TNF 2026: Developing Human Capital

The International Industrial and Energy Forum TNF has concluded in Tyumen. It was attended by representatives of the Advanced Engineering School, the Technology Transfer Center, and the Center for Educational Solutions Based on Artificial Intelligence Technologies at the University of Tyumen, as well as university staff and students.
At the forum, the University of Tyumen signed several cooperation agreements. The central event of the business program was the signing of a five-year strategy for the development of interaction with Gazprom Neft. The agreement provides for joint work on solutions for efficient production in permafrost areas, robotization of field infrastructure, enhanced oil recovery, and engineer training.

It is worth noting that from 2020 to 2025, University of Tyumen scientists have already implemented several research and development projects for the company, and the Advanced Engineering School continues to deliver basic and specialized higher education programs in field engineering, robotics, integrated modeling, innovation studies, and geotechnics in the permafrost zone.

The University of Tyumen's partner network at the forum also expanded through inter-university cooperation. The agreement with Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University is aimed at effective personnel training and joining efforts of the regions. In addition, a framework agreement was signed with Kenеra LLC, regulating the implementation of joint research and development work using the company's infrastructure capabilities and the university's competencies.

At the forum exhibition, the University of Tyumen presented two technological projects developed with the participation of students from the Advanced Engineering School. An automated chamber for pipeline cleaning and diagnostic tools for oil pipelines has passed its first tests, confirming one hundred percent functionality. Commercial scaling of the development is planned from 2027. The second project is a robotic installation for applying waterproofing and thermal insulation at weld seams, which fully automates the work cycle, including surface cleaning, primer application, coupling installation, and pouring of the polyurethane foam component.
