UTMN researchers win prestigious grants

Five UTMN representatives will carry out research projects under “Mikhail Lomonosov” and “Immanuel Kant” programs.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), together with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, offer doctoral candidates and young university teachers from Russia the opportunity to complete a three or six-month research stay at a German university and establish long-term contacts with German researchers.

Two UTMN postgraduate students have won the Mikhail Lomonosov program grants.

Alina Israfilova from the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Sciences will go to the TU Dresden under the guidance of Michael Kaliske, Director of the Institute of Structural Analysis.

Nikolai Ivanov, landscape architect from the Institute of Biology, will join the research group of Prof. Dr. Christina von Haaren from the Leibniz University Hannover.

Three representatives of the University of Tyumen have won the Immanuel Kant program grants.

Ekaterina Khromova, postgraduate student at the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, will go to the University of Frankfurt.

Dmitry Bayduzh, Associate Professor at the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, Candidate of Historical Sciences, will conduct research at the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg.

Dmitry Rudenko, Associate Professor at the Institute of Finance and Economics, Candidate of Economic Sciences, will go to the University of Göttingen.

Moreover, thanks to the financial support of DAAD, Damir Safin, Director of the Institute of Chemistry, will undertake a short-term internship the field of coordination chemistry at the University of Cologne in 2019.

Currently, two physicists from the X-BIO Institute are also undergoing training in Germany: Dmitry Gabyshev, Candidate of Physico-Mathematical Sciences, is now a member of the climate research group headed by Professor Dr. Otto Klemm (University of Münster). Nikolai Kubochkin, postgraduate student, is studying thermal effects on fluids under the guidance of Professor Dr. Tatiana Gambaryan-Roisman (Technische Universität Darmstadt).
