University of Tyumen Awarded the Order of Honour

Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov visited the University of Tyumen on the occasion of its 95th anniversary.
At a meeting of the Academic Council, held in a solemn atmosphere, he congratulated the university community and presented the Order of Honour. On behalf of the university, the award was accepted by UTMN Rector Ivan Romanchuk.

Valery Falkov expressed his gratitude to faculty members, alumni, and all those who have contributed to the university’s development throughout its history and continue to work at UTMN today.

“It is important that the university team, led by the Rector, not only remembers its proud traditions and takes pride in past achievements, but also recognizes the responsibility to uphold this banner and do everything possible to make the university even stronger by its centenary. It is particularly significant that, for the first time in the university’s history, its anniversary has been recognized at the level of the Head of State,” noted Valery Falkov.

The Order of Honour is one of the highest state awards in modern Russia. The University of Tyumen was awarded this distinction for its outstanding achievements in training highly qualified specialists and in scientific and pedagogical activities. The corresponding decree was signed by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

“It is both a great honour and a great responsibility to receive such a prestigious award. I sincerely congratulate our entire team on this recognition and, of course, on the anniversary of the university. I am proud of the results we have achieved and deeply grateful to the President for acknowledging our professionalism and accumulated expertise. This is a powerful motivation for us to continue working tirelessly, striving for new goals and never resting on our achievements,” said UTMN Rector Ivan Romanchuk.

It should be noted that the University of Tyumen is the only civilian higher education institution in the Tyumen Region to have been awarded the Order of Honour.

In addition, the university received a congratulatory telegram from Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin
