UTMN to Enroll Over 2 Thousand State-Funded Entrants in 2018

Admissions 18 October 2017
In 2018, entrants who decided to enter the University of Tyumen (UTMN) can claim for 2396 state-funded places. This is 79 places more than in 2017.

Among them, 1467 people (865 - in Tyumen, 602 - in the Tobolsk, Ishim and Nizhnevartovsk branches) will be able to study free of charge in full-time bachelor's and specialist's degrees.

580 state-funded places are allocated in a master's degree at the full-time department.

Another 349 entrants will be enrolled in various training programs as part of part-time education.

Speaking of full-time education in the head university, it is worth noting that bachelor's and specialist's degrees are again skewed towards the natural-science areas of training: 635 free places against 230 for humanities.

Despite this, the entrants cannot but feel happy about the fact that for the first time in many years, state-funded places have been allocated to such humanitarian areas of training as "State and Municipal Administration" (3), "International Relations" (15) and "Psychology" (20).

Also, state-funded places are going to appear in the promising technical specialty "Mechatronics and Robotics" (16).

It should also be noted that the number of state-funded places for "Economics" in the School of Advanced Studies has doubled as well. Meanwhile, for "Computer Security" and "Information Security of Automated Systems", there will be 10 free places less in 2018 (25 for each).

As for the other areas of training, the situation with regard to the number of state-funded places compared to last year has changed insignificantly.

We want to remind you that the procedure for admission to universities for those applying for bachelor's and specialist's studies in the school year 2018/19 is going to be the same. To find all the necessary information about the upcoming admission campaign, please contact interoffice@utmn.ru.
