Oxford Russia Fund - the key to success!

University of Tyumen has started accepting applications from students for participation in the competition for the prestigious scholarship of the Oxford Russia Fund. Against this background, a meeting with grantees and applicants for this scholarship has been held in the White Hall of the UT recently.

It is to be reminded that the non-profit Oxford Russia Fund (ORF) was established in 2005 by graduates of the University of Oxford, looking for an effective way to support promising Russian students and postgraduates. Since 2008, the University of Tyumen has been among the 20 Russian universities that signed a cooperation agreement with Oxford Russia Fund.

The Scholarship programme is the core project of the Fund, aimed at the development of the classical education in Russia. This is why, participation in the competition is open for students, undergraduates and graduate students of Russian citizenship, and studying humanities  full-time (archeology, history, history and theory of art, culture, world literature, politics, law, psychology, sociology, philology, philosophy, economics, ethics, religious studies, ethnology and journalism).

Scholarship offered by Oxford Russia Found is considered one of the most prestigious tuitions– commented representative of the fund at UT, Head of International Relations Department of the university Elena Yuzhakova – Oxford University is in itself a very prestigious institution, so even the affiliation to it gives a certain status. The scholarship opens great opportunities - it is, in a way, a key to success: a mentioning in the CV of the fact that you are a scholar of Oxford Russia Fund, will certainly be of advantage

In 2016, the competition for the ORF scholarship runs in 2 stages and is open from March 28 to August 25. Please note that the contest announced in the spring is for 2-3 year students of undergraduate programmes and for 3-5 year students enrolled in specialty courses only. For undergraduates and postgraduates the competition will be held in autumn.

Applicants for the scholarship must have good to excellent academic performance for two consecutive semesters, actively conduct research work in a chosen field, participate in scientific and practical activities of the university, as well as actively participate in the social life of UT. Furthermore, having scientific publications is an additional plus.

The amount of scholarship offered at the moment makes 6000 rubles. Students receive it for 10 months.
