UTMN Summer School Opened by Hungarian Guests
The Hungarian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Russia, János Balla and the Consul General of Hungary in Yekaterinburg, Sergey Syuch, took part in the opening ceremony of the UTMN International summer school, alongside the UT rector Valery Falkov.
The interest of such respectable representatives in the summer school was brought about by the fact that 16 of 21 students taking the course are from top Hungarian universities. They are joined by 3 students from Vietnam and 2 from France.
During their welcome speeches, the honored guests pointed out the importance and fruitfulness of such international cooperation, with all the great opportunities which the format of the summer school provides for the students.
‘It is important to mention that the summer school’s program Business Russian is quite unique compared to other summer educational projects. This has been made possible due to our partnership with the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN). UTMN and RUDN scientists and specialists developed the program, and are now engaged in its implementation. In particular, the first week of classes is conducted by RUDN teachers’, says the Head of the UTMN International Relations Department, Elena Yuzhakova.
The study of business Russian at the summer school is not purely theoretical. The international students visited the Tyumen Region Duma to learn about document management. As part of an excursion to Tobolsk, they were informed about "Business Correspondence in Tobolsk Gubernia". The next topic, The language of tour guides, will be studied during an excursion to the archaeological museum-reserve at Lake Andreevskoe near Tyumen.
Plenty more field trips and events have been organized for the participants to enjoy before the summer school ends and students receive their certificates on August 13th.
