UTMN Student’s Paper on Pedology Recognized as Best at International Conference
The conference included 38 sections, reflecting all the main fields of modern fundamental and applied science.
The International Research Conference for Students and Young Scientists, “Lomonosov”, already a tradition among young academics, has taken place at the Lomonosov Moscow State University. The conference included 38 sections, reflecting all the main fields of modern fundamental and applied science.

The conference aims to promote creativity in students, postgraduates and young scientists, encourage their participation in solving the challenges of modern science, develop and maintain a unified international scientific and educational space, and establish contacts between future colleagues.
A student at the UTMN Institute of Earth Sciences, Farid Sulkarnayev, presented his research on the Pyrogenic Factor Influence on Cryolithic Zone’s Soil at a plenary meeting of the Pedology section. Farid's work was recognized as the best in his section.
Farid Sulkarnayev is a Cargill scholarship holder and a prize winner of the first all-Russian competition of student papers on Arctic issues. Currently, Farid is taking an active part in the Russian-German project studying the pyrogenic dynamics of West Siberian northern forest tundra geosystems organized in cooperation with the University of Münster.
