The Regional laboratory of ethno-confessional relations and sociocultural analysis specializes in the study of ethnic and cross-religious relations for the purpose of understanding, and ultimately preventing extremism.
Types of activities:
Monitoring and administration of examinations commissioned by the government and law-enforcement machinery;
Editing of scientific, educational and methodical literature;
Organizing seminars, ‘round table’ discussions, conferences and symposia.
Significant results of work:
- Organizing and holding 46 international (including ‘Steller readings’), all-Russian (including ‘Sulemanovsky readings’), regional (including ‘Tavdinsky readings’) readings;
Carrying out 60 examinations and expert studies;
Collective monographs (including "Islam at the back of beyond", 2007);
Participation in compiling of "Historical encyclopedia of Siberia" (2009), "History of Siberia" (in the press) and others.
