Scholarship of Yegor Gaidar
Scholarship Description
Yegor Gaidar (1956-2009) was an economist and politician, the founder of economic reforms in the 1990s. In 1991-1992, he held the posts of Minister of Economy and Finance of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (РСФСР), Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Government. He contributed to the creation of the Russian Tax Code and was one of the authors of the amendments to the Budget Code that created the Stabilization Fund (which was transformed into the Reserve Fund and the National Welfare Fund on January 1, 2008).
The Russian Ministry of Education and Science runs a competition for this named scholarship with the participation of the Yegor Gaidar Foundation. Based on the results of the competition, 10 scholarship recipients receive a scholarship.
In addition to the scholarship, the winners are also eligible to participate in the Foundation's events, e.g. the right to attend meetings and seminars at the Gaidar Forum.

Selection criteria
- study performance with "good" and "excellent" marks throughout the academic period;
- participation in scientific research in the field of economics.
Package of documents
- a certified copy of the record book confirming the high level of academic achievements;
- a covering letter signed by the head of the university;
- a confirmation from the decision of the academic council on the approval of the candidate for a scholarship;
- a recommendation letter;
- a list of publications, copies of certificates and diplomas confirming the applicant's participation in scientific research in the field of economics.
