About
The School of Natural Sciences is one of the oldest centers of scientific education in the West Siberia. Its history dates back to 1930 when the first institution of higher education was created which was the Agricultural and Pedagogical Institute. Since then a long way has been covered and now the University of Tyumen is for sure one of the best classical universities of Russia. More than 90 percent of faculty have PhDs and beyond, showing the highly professional nature of our institute.
The School of Natural Sciences has under its command material and technical resources necessary for preparing high-grade specialists. Our multimedia lecture rooms and computerized laboratory complexes provide students with outstanding facilities to conduct scientific research for both their courses and for their final projects. The students and teachers of the institute, together with their colleagues from the Institute of Chemistry, are engaged in developing new technologies and materials at the research and educational center of nanotechnologies based on the Technical Center of the University of Tyumen.
There is a high demand for graduates of the School of Natural Sciences in the job market. Our students engage in interships in the largest enterprises throughout the city and region, and more than 90 percent of graduates find work within their field of study. Most graduates take highly-paid positions in Tyumen-based oil companies likeTyumen Oil Company-British Petroleum, Schlumberger, Uralsvyazinform, SurgutNIPIneft, Gazprom, Rostelekom, Lukoil etc.
