According to the U.S. News & World Report-2021, UTMN is among the top-3 Russian universities in the subject rating "Plant and Animal Science".

This year, the UTMN Institute of Ecological and Agricultural Biology (X-BIO) will be implementing new ambitious projects. This is a great opportunity for graduate students to participate in research while getting their Postgraduate qualifications.
X-BIO Institute offers a Postgraduate Program in Biological Sciences with three Majors: Soil Science, Mycology, and Entomology. The language of instruction is English. There is an option to study and work

Students, who will be joining the proposed projects in 2021, will have certain benefits
- leading world scientists will be overlooking students' progress;
- excess to the Institute's world-class laboratories and latest technologies. Equipment for electronic, optical light and probe microscopy; molecular genetic equipment; equipment for physicochemical studies of biological objects. Field equipment: UAVs, hyper- and multispectral cameras for sampling soil, water, biological objects. Supercomputer power for bioinformatics tasks;
- paid work on a given topic within the framework of grants and contracts, including for mega-grant projects (see information below);
- the monthly income of a graduate student will be made up of payments from grants, scholarships and compensations from other sources;
- compensation for renting housing for nonresidents is offered;
- paid annual internship (for 1 month or more) in universities and academic partner centers in Moscow, St. Petersburg, or abroad.

Applicants Qualifications:
- focus on the defense of the dissertation upon completing the program;
- be dedicated to the assigned project;
- show experience in research activities (skills in laboratory and fieldwork, published articles, presentations at scientific conferences);
- be proficient in English.
