Masters students of Conceptual Engineering course successfully defend their theses
The first class of the UTMN Polytechnic School’s “Conceptual Engineering for the Oil and Gas Industry” Masters degree course has successfully graduated.
The first class of the UTMN Polytechnic School’s “Conceptual Engineering for the Oil and Gas Industry” Masters degree course has successfully graduated. 24 students defended their theses devoted to the current problems of oil and gas fields exploitation.
“This program is absolutely unique, its main purpose is to solve one of the main issues we face today. In other words, it promotes an integrated approach to fields development, that is to take into consideration all of the components - from its geology to its infrastructure. The students demonstrated a high level of competence and a great deal of interest. I can fairly state that these two years were quite productive,” says Valeriy Batrashkin, Chairman of the Examination Committee, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Technical Director of Gazprom Neft Development.
Other committee members including representatives from Gazprom Neft and Novatek also commended the presented works, 15 graduates got excellent marks.
“We are completely satisfied with the result. There are a lot of passionate and dedicated people in our team who know what they want out of this life and many of them already work in the oil industry,” shares his impressions Andrey Kalugin, leader of one of the project teams.
“70 percent of these students are already employed in large enterprises like Gazprom Neft and Novatek that took part in the educational process. I know that Rosneft, as well as Surgutneftegas and Lukoil, have also found suitable professionals for their open job positions,” confirms Valeriy Batrashkin.
