Make your Dream of Studying Abroad Come True!
UTMN students have the chance to apply for a place on the Global Education Program.
This December, students from all corners of Russia will compete for participation in the Global Education Program.
The program aims to provide financial support to Russian students who have enrolled independently at leading universities abroad. The program grant (up to 2,5 million rubles per year) covers all tuition, accommodation and flight costs.
The Global Education Program offers Russian undergraduate and postgraduate students the chance to do a masters degree, a PhD or complete a traineeship in Engineering, Education, Social Management, Medicine or Science at one of 288 leading world's universities in 32 countries.
The main requirement of the program is that participants return to Russia upon completion of their studies and work for one of almost 700 Russian partner companies and higher educational and research institutions – including the University of Tyumen - for a period of at least 3 years, using the qualifications gained to implement innovations and improve social and scientific spheres.
According to UTMN Rector Valery Falkov, the Global Education Program is a marker of university’s prestige. “Most Russian universities have no students participating in the program, while the University of Tyumen has three, one of whom is already enlisted to the UTMN personnel reserve,” commented Rector.
Postgraduate student Zakhar Lanets was UTMN’s first Global Education participant. In 2015, he won a grant to study Business Practices in Oil and Gas at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.
“Participation in the Global Education Program allowed me obtain additional, deeper professional knowledge in one of the best technical universities of the world,” said Zakhar. “I believe that I can implement the knowledge gained abroad in Russia, as I am already enlisted to the personnel reserve of UTMN – one of the fastest growing universities in Russia with huge potential in my professional sphere”.
In 2016, UTMN alumni Viktoria Alyoshina (University of Leeds) and Tair Esenbaev (University of Manchester) won grants through the program.
All the program participants from UTMN plan to come back to their alma mater to study for a PhD degree or to join UTMN research projects. Tair Esenbaev has already joined UTMN Research Laboratory of Photonics and Microfluidics.
The Global Education Program at UTMN is coordinated by the Vice Rector for Research and International Affairs, Andrei Tolstikov.
