A roundtable discussion titled "200 Years Since Academician G. I. Langsdorff’s Expedition to the Amazon" was held at the main building of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Participants addressed not only the historical significance of the first studies of the region’s flora, fauna, and the lifestyles of its Indigenous peoples conducted by Russian scholars, but also contemporary prospects for research into biodiversity, climate change, and a sustainable bioeconomy.

In December, the University of Tyumen is completing work on the international project “Methodological Support for the Introduction of the Russian Language as a Foreign Language into Educational Programmes”, implemented under a tripartite agreement with the University of South Africa (UNISA) and the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia named after Patrice Lumumba (RUDN University).
