UTMN entered eight new RAEX subject ratings
For the first time, RAEX Agency has published subject ratings of the best universities in Russia, which have replenished the ecosystem of ratings "Three university missions". The Russian Union of Rectors supported the project.
The rating compilers note that the methodology is based on the analysis of statistical data without conducting expert surveys, which contributed to the objectivity of the criteria. In particular, the data sources were the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, international bibliometric databases, I am a professional all-Russia Olympiad, the system of monitoring and analysis of mass media and social media SCAN–Interfax, aggregators of online courses, the web analytics platform Alexa, as well as social networks.
UTMN entered the top 20 universities in Russia in eight subject areas:
geography – 6,
biology – 10,
pedagogical education – 10,
sociology – 16,
chemistry - 16,
ecology - 17,
biotechnology and bioengineering - 19,
history and archeology – 20.
"The enrollment of UTMN into the top 10 universities of Russia in geography, biology and pedagogical sciences is not surprizing," commented the Rector of UTMN Ivan Romanchuk. – The opening of the first carbon landfill in Russia, where eco projects will be implemented, as well as research together with the SB RAS on the cryolithozone in the Arctic, soils, fresh water, structure and dynamics of landscapes allowed the University to take a leading position in the field of geography. The study of biological diversity, projects in the field of genetics and genetic technologies, as well as the search for a response to biological threats has approved UTMN among the leading centers of biological education and science. Methodological support and practical implementation of projects for the transformation of education, including higher education, individualization of approaches to learning, development of new methods and technologies of inclusive education – predetermined the high place of UTMN in the subject ranking."
It should be noted that in terms of the number of directions presented in the top 20, the University of Tyumen is confidently leading among the universities of the region.
